The Universitat de València took in the IV Conference CRUE of Student Affairs

The meeting served to exchange ideas and analyse the challenges of the university student sector, with the participation of diverse academic and student personalities.

The Universitat de València held the IV Conference CRUE of Student Affairs, an event destined to exchange ideas, analyse some of the challenges that confront the sector and give proposals to improve in the development of the aspects linked to the university students.

The opening counted with the participation of Maria Vicenta Mestre, Dean of the Universitat de València; Mrs. María Antonia Peña, president of CRUE- Student Affairs and Dean of the University of Huelva; and Mrs. Esther Gómez, regional secretary of Universities of the Generalitat Valenciana.

At the meeting, the attendees had the opportunity to debate and share experiences in various panel discussions. The first of them was about the coordination of the university entrance examinations  and the access for non-EU foreign students. This session was presented by Mr. Juan Luis Benítez, Vice-Principal of Students and University Life in the University of Granada, and counted with the participation of Mrs. Rosa M. Visiedo, dean of the University of CEU San Pablo; Mrs. Carmen Gallardo, Vice-Principal of Students in the University of Sevilla; and Mr. Carles Padilla, Vice-Principal for Internationalisation and Multilingualism of the Universitat de València.

The second panel discussion, focused in the Student Statute and other regulations in the debate, was presented by Mr. Alfonso López Muñiz, Vice-Principal of Students and Employment of the University of Oviedo, and counted with the participation of Mrs. Maria José Lombardía, Vice-Principal of the University of A Coruña; Mrs. Marta Ferrer, Vice-Principal of the University of Catalonia; Mr. Alfonso Campuzano, president of CREUP; and Mrs. Alba Lirón, Vice-Principal of CEUNE.

On Friday, 7 February, the conference continued with a panel discussion about external internships and the Statute of the people in practical non-work training in the business field, presented by Mrs. Alicia Rubio, Vice-Principal of Students and Employment in the University of Murcia. Mr. Juan Carlos Tejeda, Principal od the Department of Education and Formation of the CEOE; Mr. Nicolás Pingarrón, Vice-Principal of Institutional Relations of CREUP; and Mrs. Maria Isabel Beas, responsible of the university service of employment in the Jaume I University participated.

Then the Sectoral Plenary took place, where reports and works done in different work groups like Scholarships, Sports, University Culture and Life, Diversity and Disability, Job, Mobility and organization and Student Participation, and Student Orientation were presented.
