The event, celebrated under the commemorative plaque located on the street named after the Catalan professor, brought together UV Principal M. Vicenta Mestre, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Francisco Muñoz, President of the UV Board of Trustees Vicent Soler and President of the Valencian Chapter of the Ernest Lluch Foundation Salvador Almenar, as well as individuals from the world of politicas, Valencian civil society and the university community.

Lluch was murdered by the terrorist group ETA in his home in Barcelona twenty-three years ago. During the First Legislature of Felipe González's government, the Universidad Central de Barcelona professor was known for his reputation in defense of dialogue, critical knowledge and freedom. Specifically, regarding the Basque conflict, he always advocated for peace and the respect of human rights.

The homage ended with the traditional offering and the song Cant dels Ocells.
