The University hands out diplomas to the winners of the UV Olympiads

In this edition, more than 1,800 students participated from more than 440 educational centres throughout the province of Valencia. The winners receive a €1,000 study grant for their first year of studies at the University of Valencia.
The award ceremony for the winners of the 2022-2023 UV Olympiads was held in the Aula Magna at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Valencia and was chaired by the president of the University, M. Vicenta Mestre, the Vice-President of Studies, Isabel Vázques, and the delegate of University Integration, M. José Lorente, who were in charge of handing out the diplomas.
Participation in this year’s edition saw an increase with 300 more participants than the previous year reaching more than 1,800 participants from a total of 444 secondary education centres in the province of Valencia.
This year, there were a total of 69 winners in the disciplines of biology, classics, economy, philosophy, physics, geography, geology, history, art history, computer science, mathematics, chemistry and Valencian language.
Biology Olympiad: Carolina Guillén Villarejo, Carlos Albuixech Bonet, Celia Lafuente Alcázar, Gemma Picot Pavía, Calia Lian Domingo Martí, Alba Baldomero Hilla, Lía Arencibia Flores, Pablo Martínez Gago, Marcos Valera Contelles and Sonsoles Zubieta Galeano.
Classics Olympiad: Inés Soler Gil, Moysha Inés Ingrosso, Adrián Martínez Fortuño, Helena Fuster Soriano, Ángela Cardona Ortega and Éric Martos García.
Economics Olympiad: Enric Serrano Peris, Juan Martí Cabanell, María Boquera Tarín, Juan Tur Gadea, Teresa Puertas Peraire, Luís Núñez Valor, Clara Ballester Beneito, Salvador Canales Farfán, Diego Nunes Sardi and María Gamborino Blasco.
Philosophy Olympiad: Mireia López Zambrano, Carmen Martínez de la Casa Álvarez and Agustín Moreira Amorim.
Physics Olympiad: Juan Moya Rico, David Cebolla Ruiz, Nicolás Merenciano Esteve, Héctor Gómez Taberner, Joan Pascual Ribes and Aleix Ortells Blanco.
Geography Olympiad: Xavier Gea Rosaleñ, Erik Casero Galdón and Nicolás Bartual Cremades.
Geology Olympiad: Núria Martínez Palanca, Ruth Gómez Pericàs, Claudia Fort Lloria and Marcos Díaz Ferri.
History Olympiad: Jorge Domínguez González, Raúl Miñano Santamaría and Paula Barberá Fernández.
History of Art Olympiad: Laura Gómez Dalmau, Álvaro Chilet Picazo and Avril Gómez Núñez.
Computer Science Olympiad: Darío Martínez Ramírez, Daniel Nieto Pérez and Héctor Gómez Taverner.
Mathematics Olympiad: Darío Martínez Ramírez, Nicolás Merenciano Esteve, Ariadna Franch Pérez, Álvaro Salón Hernández, Alexandru-Andrei Tudor and Ángel García Andreu.
Chemistry Olympiad: Sergio Garrido Bourkhaeva, Alexandru-Andrei Tudor, Joan Pascual Ribes, Jordi Álvarez Usina, José Pérez de Colosia Real and Sergio Santonja Gil.
Valencian Language Olympiad: Joan Pascual Ribes, Carla Blasco López, Miquel Sanz Freyre, Carme Naval Gorrita, Penélope Romero Alvarado and Mateo Gil Sáez.
UV Olympiad
The main goals of the University of Valencia Olympiads are to create a connection between secondary school and university level studies, as well as to promote study in different areas of knowledge, acknowledge effort and academic excellence and encourage the most outstanding students in different branches of knowledge to complete their undergraduate studies at the University of Valencia.
The competition is open to Bachillerato students, with the exception of admittance of students in the 4th year of ESO, from public and private schools, preferably in the province of Valencia.
Students who win the Olympiads receive a study grant of €1,000. This grant will only be awarded if the winner enrolls in the first year of a degree course at a centre belonging to the University of Valencia.
