The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Universitat de València hosted the Twelfth Edition of the Biomedical Research Congress from 7 to 9 February, a meeting held in hybrid mode in which more than four hundred students from different Spanish universities participated.
The meeting was inaugurated by the Principal of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Amparo Ruiz; the Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences, Carmen Bañó; and the presidents of the organising committee, Elena Victoria Fernández and Pablo Escribano. Afterwards, the first conference took place: “Biotechnology, from the laboratory to space”, given by the molecular biologist and first Spanish astronaut, Sara García Alonso.
The congress, created entirely by students to offer a complementary training tool to the student body, provides a meeting point for students, researchers, and scientists to encourage critical thinking.
During three days, the attendees were able to enjoy several conferences and round tables related to research topics. In addition, they attended workshops to complete the practical training and competitions for posters and oral reports, scientific art, and dissemination science videos.
