The UV wins 6 medals in the Wrestling CEU

The wrestlers from the Universitat de València return from the University Spanish Championship with 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The Sports Technification Centre (C.A.R.) of Los Alcázares in Murcia hosted the 2022 Olympic Wrestling University Spanish Championship on 7 May, which brought together a total of 68 students (34 male and 25 female wrestlers) from 18 universities from all over the country who competed for medals in the different categories of wrestling.

The wrestlers from the Universitat de València, Cristina Andujar Ojeda and Natalia Valero Lamela won a silver and a bronze medal, respectively, both in the senior 55 kg category. On the other side, Carmen Jiménez Collado won a silver medal in the 59 kg category, And Nayla Adell Tello got a bronze medal in the 78 kg category.

As for the male group, the wrestlers from the UV made the podium in the senior 62 kg category. Gonzalo García Fajardo won a silver medal and Vicente Correas García a bronze medal.  Also competing in the championship, in the senior 90 kg category, was the UV student José María Belmonte Fernández, who finished in a meritorious 7th place.
