Food, opera and law, among the topics of the UniSocietat conferences in March

A dozen professors of the Universitat de València participate this month in the academic course of Unisocietat’s conferences set up in 12 municipalities. With different topics, ranging from legal management or music, to literature or prehistory.

Bétera, Cullera, l'Eliana, Ontinyent, Paterna, Requena and Riba-roja de Túria are hosting this month conferences given by experts from the Universitat de València. These conferences, which are free and open to all residents of the different towns and their immediate surroundings, are part of the Unisocietat academic year’s complementary activities implemented in these towns.

The series of conferences UNISOCIETAT, spring 2022, which will continue monthly throughout the current academic year in the 12 headquarters, has been organised by the Universitat de València, with the sponsorship of Caixa Popular (in eleven headquarters) and the Diputació de València. In addition, Caixa Ontinyent (in the Vall d'Albaida capital), the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency and the Culture for Legal Mediation Chair of the Universitat de València are also collaborating.

The Unisocietat conferences start on 2nd March in Quart de Poblet, Gandia and Benetússer. Professor Enrique Lanuza Navarro (Department of Cell Biology, Functional Biology and Physical Anthropology. UV) will address “La base neural del miedo”  in Quart de Poblet. Ángeles Solanes Corella (Philosophy of Law and Politics. UV) will give a talk on “Cómo ser demócrata y no morir en el intent” in the capital of La Safor. And in Benetússer, Professor Amparo Hurtado Soler (Experimental and Social Sciences Educations. UV) will give a talk on “Huertos sostenibles y medioambiente. De la semilla a la mesa”.

Professor Mª José Ruiz Leal (Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Food Sciences, Toxicology and Forensic Medicine. UV) will analyse the need to experiment with animals, on 3rd March in Massamagrell.

Professor Isabel Martínez Martínez (Nursing. UV) will give a conference on “Alimentación saludable y el etiquetado de alimentos” in Ontinyent on 10th March. Those interested in this subject will have the opportunity to attend this conference by Isabel Martínez on 22nd March, in Unisocietat l'Eliana.

In Cullera, on the 22nd, Andrés Boix Palop (Administrative and Procedural Law. UV) will focus on the “gestión jurídica de la pandemia”.

On 24th March, the Unisocietat conference programme comes to Requena, Riba-roja de Túria and Paterna. Requena welcomes Professor Gora Zaragoza Ninet (English and German Philology. UV), who will address “La censura durante el Franquismo: la literatura y el cine traducidos”. In Riba-roja de Túria, Professor Agustín Pastor García (Analytical Chemistry. UV) will focus on explaining the relationship between “Arqueología y química”. And in Paterna, Professor Julio Cortijo Gimeno (Pharmacology. UV) will talk about the “Riesgos de tener la farmacia en casa”.

Music will be the protagonist of the Alzira conference on 29th March. Ana Mª Botella Nicolás (Teaching of Musical, Plastic and Corporal Expression. UV) will give her talk “Viaje al mundo de la ópera”.

On the 30th, in Bétera, Professor David Quixal Santos (Prehistory, Archaeology and Ancient History. UV) will share with the audience “El día a día en la antigua Edetania ibérica”.

Finally, on 31st March, Massamagrell will host the conference Claves del envejecimiento con éxito en el mundo: ¿por qué nos interesan las Zonas Azules?, given by Esperanza Navarro Pardo (Developmental and Educational Psychology. UV).
