The Universitat dels Majors, in which there are students from la Safor and the surrounding districts, is intended for people being 50 years or older who are curious for learning and motivated by culture. 

It was established in Gandia in the academic year 2007-2008 with a plan for Humanities and Social Sciences. Particularly, the plan encompasses 600 teaching hours divided in three academic courses (200 hours each). Each course is divided in two terms and has two core subjects, so that at the end of the course, all the students will have coursed 4 core subjects.

Once the first learning phase is completed, the Universitat dels Majors offers the possibility to do the second stage. This stage is known as Level II Higher/Specialisation and is formed by two courses (200 hours each).
