In the exhibition ... a kind of exhibition. Emotions and paintings by Ana Mayol, thanks to this Valencian artist’s paint brushes, a selection of tree species which are part of our public imagination which will become a fusion of art and sensations.
The main nine species are that of the gif tree, the lemon tree, the chestnut tree, the apple tree, the plum tree, vineyards, the cypress, the olive tree and the almond tree. We can find them in Mayol’s paintings and also in her still lives composed of some drinks and food obtained from fruits. All this along with texts which explain why she finds them special. Hence, it could not fit better in our Garden; this project leads us to discover the soul of this natural monuments through the emotions they transmit to the artist.

Over 50 acrylic and watercolour works which are the result of Ana Mayol’s work -who paints since she was little and does not agree with contests even holding the National Painting Award, where she participated being motivated by her students-. She finished her studies at the San Carlos Higher School of Fine Arts in 1976 and, apart from dedicating to graphic design, she has had a teaching period at a private academy. Her works have traversed the barriers of the Valencian Community and Spain, reaching Europe and even Miami.
In the words of the artist, she admires the trees because the are capable of creating beautiful and lively pictures only resorting to humble elements and non-spectacular colours and forms along with tiny measures. At the Botanical Garden, you can continue this stroll around words and strokes.
