STATE OF EMERGENCY IN THE SOUTHERN BORDER
Agreements made anti-immigration among member states of the European Union and Morocco have produced a decline of respect for human rights of the immigrant population in the North African country. According to a report by social organizations, which analyzes the application in Morocco of the International Convention on the Protection of Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (CMW), access to basic rights of migrants has deteriorated since 2011. Immigrant communities equate the situation of persecution living since last summer to the events of 2005, where thousands of immigrants were taken to the desert and left to their fate.
