PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND HEALTH PROMOTION GROUP

This research group has been created in the University of Valencia (Valencia, Spain) in order to promote interdisciplinary studies of physical activity and health topics. The group is composed of members from different departments: Social Psychology, Nursing and, Teaching of Musical, Visual and Corporal Expression (Physical Education Unit).

The specific areas of interest of the AFIPS research group are the following:

• Physical activity patterns and their correlates and determinants in specific populations such as children, adolescents and university students.
• The assessment and development of motor competence at school age. The relationship between motor competence and active lifestyles.
• Psychological processes associated with physical activity behavior and psychological well-being.
• Physical education, school environment and health promotion.
• Analysis of lifestyles and heath in special populations.
