In this seminar, coach training will be the main focus under the direction of Javi Villaplana, Juanan Valero and Ferrán Pizcueta.
On Sunday 9 March from 9:00am to 2:00pm at the inside court in Alqueria del Basket, three experts will share their knowledge on different areas about coach training and education. The event will be on-site only and will be taken into account for the coach course FEB/FBCV hour count. It aims to provide resources and strategies on the area of sport and elite sport training.
The session will consist on the speakers explaining how to make different methodologies coexist in basketball, working on the same training proposals with different methods. These are the proposals:
End of the first phases: mini-children's league
Ball reception with prior advantage: children's league-youth's league
Beat dribble: youth's league-junior league

The seminar will start wil Javi Villaplana's session. He is licensed in Sport and Phisycal Activities Science and is the coach in training phases for Ros Casares, Valencia Basket, stepping up to professional basketball as assistant coach of first male team winner of the Supercopa 2017, Eurocup 2019 and 4 seasons in Euroleague. His role is Player Development in B-Ball Center since 2023, working on players like Josep Puerto or Bojan Bublevic. He is coach to the VBC Youth League Male Team B and the Argos Bats ·x3 as well as teacher in trainig organisms of FBCV, FEB and Zenith Sports. Villaplana will conduct the first session on analytical method.
After him, it's the turn for Juanan Valero, graduate on Children Education, licensed in Sports and Physical Activities Science and superior basketball coach. He has an extensive career in the basketball scene: AD San José's coach between 1987 and 1993, Picken Claret's between 2008 and 2013 and Valencia Basket Court's coach since 2009. Valero's session will focus on the mixed method.
Finally, the third session will be in charge of Ferrán Pizcueta, PE Teaching expert and superior basketball coach. He is coordinator to the training and tactical area of FBCV coach courses, member of the technical units of U12 - U114 (FBCV) and U12 - U16 (FEB), as well as EBA League coach. He has been sport's principal in Victor Claver, Marina Ferragut and FP Unlimited Basketball. He is currently responsible for the Player Development programme in Valencia Basket Court and personal trainer of basketball pro-players. His session will focus on the constructivist method.
