The archive is divided into two main sections with complementary functions: the Historical Archive and the Intermediate Archive.
Historical Archive: a collection at the service of research
The Historical Archive preserves documentation dating from the mid-16th century to the 20th century. This collection is of immense value for historical and documentary research, and it is open to all researchers who need to consult its documents.
The archive staff offers specialized guidance and facilitates the use of the various available sources. The Historical Archive has a dedicated reading room for researchers, where documents can be examined with full guarantees of preservation and security. Archivists provide personalized assistance to interested users, both in locating and consulting the preserved documents, guiding them in their search and resolving any doubts about accessing and interpreting the archival collections.
Intermediate Archive: support for daily management
The Intermediate Archive holds recent administrative documentation produced by the governing bodies, services, and departments of the Universitat de València. It plays a key role in the university’s records management, ensuring efficient and organized access to the documents required for academic and administrative activities.
The PTGAS can consult this documentation by contacting the Intermediate Archive, where they will receive support in locating and accessing the documents. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the UV staff to submit the administrative documentation generated in their departments, following the established procedure.
With this collection of images, we want to recognize the work of the archive staff and highlight the importance of records management within an institution like the Universitat de València, committed to preserving its historical memory and ensuring transparency in its administrative activities.
