Last Friday April 18 we participated in the meeting “University Volunteering and 2030 Agenda”, organised by the Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the Universitat Jaume I.
This event, inaugurated by Pedro Carceller Icard, Director General of Inclusion and Development Cooperation of the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), and Elsa González Esteban, Director of the Chair and Vice-Rector for Social Responsibility, Inclusive Policies and Equality of the UJI, served as a meeting point to reflect on the contribution of volunteering to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this direction, the conference “University volunteering as a tool for the implementation of the SDGs” was given and a round table on “University volunteering in the promotion of global citizenship and the 2030 Agenda” took place, in which the Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the Universitat de València was present through its director, Sergio Belda Miquel, who shared with the attendees the actions being carried out by the Chair together with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Life and other UV bodies to mobilise university students to transform their living and consumption patterns towards others in line with the principles of the 2030 Agenda.
