At this conference, the organisers will recognise the actions, commitment and involvement of the entities with which they work in the achievement of the SDGs such as the end of poverty, gender equality, the reduction of inequalities and decent work.

The 5th 'Compromiso por el empleo' Conference, which will take place on Thursday June 9th at 9.30 h. at the Espai de Creació Jove (Matadero) in Quart de Poblet, aims to disseminate and raise awareness of the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility.

To the high level of vulnerability from which we started before COVID-19, we must add the present context of social crisis caused by the pandemic, which has led to a significant increase in the number of people living in poverty and/or social exclusion. A path that we have to walk together: organisations, volunteers, public and private institutions, social agents and companies.

This conference aims to encourage companies to align their actions and strategies to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 17 goals approved by all member states of the United Nations that are part of the 2030 Agenda, offering companies a universal and coherent framework to guide their contributions to sustainable development and to create shared value. In the business sphere specifically, the achievement of a better quality of life for workers and the reduction of environmental pollution must be encouraged and promoted.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a voluntary commitment that provides benefits such as improved labour relations with employees, improved purchasing conditions with suppliers, improved productivity, reduced energy consumption and increased customer base.

This conference has been organised by the Fundació Nova Feina, with the collaboration of the Regional Ministry of Participation, Transparency, Cooperation and Democratic Quality, the Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development (ODS) of the Universitat de València and the City Council of Quart de Poblet.
