The Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development at the UV, represented by co-director Sergio Belda, particpated in the first Meeting of the Chairs of Sustainable Development of the Public Valencian Universities
The event took place in the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Alicante (UA) on 15 June. It was opened by the vice-president for International Relations and Development Cooperation at the UA, Rosa María Martínez together with Manual Menéndez, director of the Chair of Peace and Justice at the UA and Enric Roig, representing the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Regional Government).
With the collaboration of the Red Española para el Desarrollo Sostenible (Spanish Network for Sustainable Development, REDS), this initiative was conceived with the aim to generate synergy among universities and promote the transfer of knowledge concerning the work carried out by the Chairs. Each chair focuses on the following areas in the 2030 Agenda:
- University Jaume I - Alliances
- University of Valencia - People
- Polytechnic University of Valencia - The Planet
- University Miguel Hernández - Prosperity
- University of Alicante - Peace and Justice
