The project poses the comparative study of intercultural coexistence dynamics and social cohesion in different central, semi-central and peripheral neighbourhoods of Madrid, Granada, Tenerife, Zaragoza and València. Its aim is to generate theoretical and applied knowledge on cohesive practices and situations of conflict in neighbourhoods with a high number of foreign emigrants and, therefore, with an increasing cultural diversification. Neighbourhoods that, in some cases, have experienced gentrification processes whereas, in others, there are dynamics of precarity, specially in times of crisis. The research group is considering giving practical recommendations for institutional and social action in order to improve citizenship integration and intercultural coexistence. Changes brought by abroad migrations, sociability crisis and cohesive neighbourhood practices and solidarity are the main focus of a research whose aim is to have an impact on the resolution and mediation of intercultural mediation.
