Several academics, politicians and interest groups attended the event

A workshop entitled "New media, old media? Research challenges, emerging findings and future directions” was held at the Fiends Meeting House in London on January 19. The event was jointly organized by two working groups of the Political Studies Association: the Technology, Internet and Policy (TIP) Group and the Media and Politics (MP) Group was.

The workshop was divided into three panels that combined contributions from academics, institutional representatives and interest groups. The first panel was led by Giulia Sandri and was entitled "Evidence-based policy making: how and why to study different media". The second panel was moderated by Emily Harmer and was called "Online hate and abuse". The third and last panel was led by Liam McLoughlin and was dedicated to "Algorithms, bias and decision-making".

The day included multiple opportunities to promote networking. Oscar Barberà atended the event alongside other ESPOL colleagues such as Giulia Sandri and Felix von Nostitz.
