
He will work on several funding proposals and ongoing publications
Professor Ben O'Loughlin begins this week a stay at both the DIGIPOL research group and the Political Science and Public Administration Unit of the University of Valencia (UV). His stay is funded through a "Talent Attraction" grant from the UV.
Ben O’Loughlin is Professor of International Relations and Director of the New Political Communication Unit at Royal Holloway, University of London. He co-edits the new book series AI Politics with Intellect Books / University of Chicago Press, and the journal Media, War & Conflict. He was Special Advisor to the UK Parliament’s Soft Power Select Committee, and Thinker in Residence at the Royal Academy, Brussels, working on Disinformation and Democracy.
During his stay at the Universitat de València, Professor O’Loughlin will work on a book project with Marco Guglielmo and Andreu Teruel, develop a funding proposal led by Oscar Barberà, and write and present a paper on how actors use temporal expectations to shape the direction of world politics. He will also explore the phenomenology of tension in authoritarian society through analysis of TV series Star City.
