Next 6 and 7 March, a Sustainability Workshop from the Community of Students in Action, “Estudiantes en Acción”, for a sustainable, fair, and inclusive future will be held at the Botanical Garden.
This is a learning programme in sustainability that aims to develop a global, critical and active knowledge within the student community of the Universitat de València, in the search for new solutions and actions towards a more sustainable, fair, and inclusive change for all people. At the same time, the training seeks to support the creation of a students community that works for sustainability at the core of the Universitat.
A practical training designed through participatory dynamics and agile and innovative methodologies to facilitate a new collective understanding for the most curious, passionate and committed students of the different branches of knowledge of the University, who want to stop being mere spectators and become an active part of the community.
A more creative initiative (learning by doing) that invites to share and generate a common purpose of learning and contribution to the community, connecting and generating synergies among the participants, to sow the first seed of a future “Community of Students in Action".

- Goals of the training: To value and foster the collective knowledge of the student community, connecting and involving them in the mission of change towards a responsible, sustainable, and fair university model throughout its radius of action, as well as promoting the creation of a future "Community of Students in Action".
- Specific goals:
- Collectively learn a critical and active overview of current global (un)sustainability, starting from the local level.
- To reflect together on the main social, economic, and environmental problems and challenges, both within the university and in its environment, in order to achieve co-responsibility in practice with other university actors.
- To develop in the participants a spirit of intrapreneurship and open innovation; to facilitate mutual learning, looking for innovative and creative solutions to current problems.
- To put into practice what we have learned, devising the first molecule and co-creating the basis for the future "Community of Students in Action".
- Workshop’s Itinerary:
- Introduction and context of sustainability.
- Detecting needs, defining challenges and levers for change.
- Devise collective solutions and develop proposals.
- Co-create a prototype for the future community of students.
- Taught by: Beatriz Medina Font, Consultant of the Chair of Economy for the Common Good, expert in triple-impact open innovation and founder of Collective Evolution (Evolución Colectiva, Evoco).
