The Student Council of the University of Valencia is the highest body for the representation, participation, and coordination of the student body at the University of Valencia. In accordance with Articles 172, 177, and 178 of the Statutes of the University of Valencia, it is composed of the student members of the University Senate (Claustre) and representatives from each faculty and school, elected by their respective Faculty or School Student Council, in accordance with its regulations.
Its main responsibilities include:
- Safeguarding and promoting the rights and interests of the student body by agreeing on and proposing the measures necessary for their protection.
- Coordinating the initiatives and activities of the Faculty and School Student Councils.
- Approving the general lines of action for student representation across the University.
- Proposing to the Governing Council the regulations governing the establishment and operation of the Student Council.
- Electing the Coordination Board, which is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with the Council's resolutions.
- Proposing the allocation of the budget assigned to student representation at the University.
- Exercising any other powers conferred upon it by the Statutes and the University's regulations.
