The UV hosts a conference on how to discover and exploit competitive advantage in companies
UV will host next Monday, 4 May, the conference Discovering and Exploiting Competitive Advantage, as part of the ImpactED – Impacte, Empresa i Direcció cycle, organised by the Department of Business Administration “Juan José Renau Piqueras” of the Faculty of Economics. The event is held as an activity linked to the FORTHEM Alliance.
The session will be delivered by José Julio González, Professor at the University of Agder (Norway), and will focus on the analysis of business competitive advantage as a key element of strategy and value creation.
During the conference, the difficulty of identifying, isolating and measuring the competencies and resources that differentiate companies will be addressed. It will also explain how distinctive competencies constitute a fundamental basis for sustainable competitive advantage.
The talk will further highlight that these competencies are not usually isolated elements, but rather complex processes resulting from the integration of technology, productive skills and the ability to organise work efficiently in order to generate value.
Another of the main topics of the session will be the presentation of the Strategyfinder™ tool, which, through participatory modelling, makes it possible to identify a company’s distinctive assets, key competencies and differential outcomes, as well as to develop practical strategies to exploit competitive advantage.
The conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the M. Sánchez Ayuso Room (1st floor) of the Faculty of Economics, on the Tarongers campus, and is aimed at students, academic staff and professionals interested in business management.
Note: Seating capacity is limited and there is no registration, so attendees may enter the room on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
