Discover FORTHEM Startup Day: keynotes, fresh pitches, and networking on sports & health tech—open to all students and innovators.
The first FORTHEM Startup Day of the year will take a deep dive into the world of sport and health technologies in the Jyväskylä City Hall. The event will kick off with keynote speakers with experts sharing their experiences of working in sports, health, and wellness and the business opportunities available. The speakers are Nina Rautiainen (the City of Jyväskylä Business Services member of EBAN Sport, and Finnish Business Angels) and Tero Myllymäki (Director of Physiological Research at Firstbeat).
The second half of the afternoon is reserved for presentations of fresh business ideas. An expert panel will comment on each pitch along with the audience. The event closes with coffee and networking.
The event is free and open to everyone!
FORTHEM Startup Day invites students to learn about startup culture, network with local experts, and, if they are interested, pitch their ideas on stage.
For whom? Students, researchers, future entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in sports, health, and wellness technologies and startup culture in Jyväskylä.
Where? Remotely on Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to registered participants.
When? Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by coffee.
Tickets? The event is free of charge. You can just walk in or register for the online event.
Organized by the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä in collaboration with the international university network FORTHEM Alliance. This time, we will be joined by Sport Innovation Hub Jyväskylä and the City of Jyväskylä's business services.
