- Gene therapy. Non-viral gene therapy: we study the genetic delivery procedures of naked DNA in sample ‘in vivo’ animals and ‘ex vivo’ humans for their clinical translation. We also develop anti-tumour genetic vaccines based on immunotherapy through the silencing of immune checkpoints.
- Pharmacogenomics. We study the associations of the genetic variants present on the genes encoding the proteins that interact with the medicines inside the organism together with the effect that these produce in the patients. With it we strive to improve the pharmacological treatments and adapt them to each individual.
