Just before the end of World War I, Mathilde is told that her husband is one of the five soldiers that have been sent to no man’s land between French and German army after having been tried in a court-martial, which means certain death. Despite all this, she takes a tough trip to know his husband’s whereabouts; even though the news are not good, she keeps going. As she gets closer to the truth about the unfortunate soldiers and their brutal punishment, she knows the horrors of war and the unforgettable scars that it leaves in those who suffered it.
