La Cabina International Medium-length Film Festival, organised by the Aula de Cinema of the Universitat de València, and Torino Short Film Market have created a laboratory for audiovisual development. This is the "WORD-FRAME LA CABINA VALÈNCIA - Laboratory for the development of short and medium-length films", a learning and tutoring space for filmmakers who have a short or medium-length film project and want to give it the necessary impetus for its realisation.

WORD-FRAME LA CABINA VALÈNCIA is, therefore, an opportunity for all professionals dedicated to directing and screenwriting who want to develop a short or medium format fiction, animation or documentary work with an international projection. Guided by industry professionals, participants will have five days of immersive training in which they will attend theoretical classes on screenwriting, knowledge of the film industry, creation of marketing dossiers, marketing training and preparation of pitching in English.

Next May, the Aula de Cinema of the Universitat de València will open the call for those interested in participating in this laboratory for the development of short and medium-length films, from which a total of eight projects will be selected. The training will take place at the Universitat de València's La Nau Cultural Centre next November, within the framework of the 15th edition of La Cabina festival, the only festival in Spain devoted entirely to the exhibition and international competition of medium-length films, so that participants will live in space and time with filmmakers and professionals attending the festival.

Torino Short Film Market was founded in 2016 as an international film market primarily focused on the short film industry (productions up to 60 minutes). Its aim is to promote the growth of the short film industry in Europe and the rest of the world, while being an annual meeting point for great international talent.

The winning project of WORD-FRAME LA CABINA VALÈNCIA, among the eight projects in training, will be invited to the workshop that will take place in Turin during the international Torino Short Film Market 2022, which will be held from 28th November to 9th December in Turin. During this five-day workshop, the winning project will receive thorough training on international co-production, access to international markets and festivals, and a new pitching session open to professionals from the European film industry.
