MARE, a creation by Rocío Ladrón de Guevara, Fernando Soler and Laura Valero.

Mare is a family story set in a working-class neighborhood in Valencia in the mid-1980s. Its protagonist narrates in the first person, drawing on her interactions with the characters from her childhood and youth — those who raised her and watched her grow up. She embarks on a search for her own identity, questioning how to build a solid future when her past was not, and reflecting on the meaning of the word “mother.” In her narration, we discover that the figure of motherhood is divided among three very significant women, while the father figure remains absent due to his profession. It is within these absences that silences fill with questions that will one day need to be answered, even if it means reopening old wounds.
