CALL FOR PAPERS-INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS: "The Margins of Law: Exclusion and Migration Policy in Spain, Italy, and France"

The congress aims to foster an academic and critical reflection on exclusion, migration policies, and human rights in Europe, approached from diverse disciplinary perspectives.

On November 5–6, 2025, the International Congress “The Margins of Law: Exclusion and Migration Policies in Spain, Italy, and France” will take place at the Graduation Hall of the Faculty of Law, University of Valencia.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS

Abstracts of 300–500 words should be sent to:
multihuriidh@gmail.com, addressing the following topics:

  1. Law, exclusion, and power: Legislation generating marginality, institutional violence, and discrimination.
  2. Migration policies in Europe: Border management, border externalization, asylum and refuge, securitization, and states of exception.
  3. Political and institutional discourses: Narratives of exclusion in politics and media, populism, hate speech, and stigmatization.
  4. Migration experiences: Life trajectories, access to social rights, strategies of resistance and agency.
  5. Inclusion and citizenship: Proposals for social justice, integration models, and innovative public policies.
  6. Human rights in crisis: Tensions between universalism and sovereignty; legitimacy crises of the human rights system; and guarantor-oriented proposals.

Submissions in both official languages (Valencian and Spanish) will be accepted, from legal, sociological, political, or interdisciplinary perspectives. Critical, intersectional, and comparative approaches will be particularly valued.
