Graduate with extraordinary prize and second national prize for completion of university studies in mathematics (1993), doctor in mathematical sciences (1997) from the University of Valencia (UV). I am currently a university professor at the Faculty of Mathematics of the UV, a university where I have been serving since 2013. Previously I have served at the UV (1993-1997, as an associate professor and with a predoctoral contract) and at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (1997-2013). I have taught undergraduate/degree subjects in Mathematics and doctoral/master's degrees in Mathematics, as well as undergraduate/engineering subjects in Computer Science and Data Science. My research work has contributed notably to the progress of knowledge in abstract group theory, linear algebra, automata theory and formal languages and in fathom theory and the Yang-Baxter equation, answering open questions in these theories and opening new lines of research. I have published 85 scientific articles in prestigious international journals that appear in very prominent positions in the most internationally recognized impact lists. I have published a research book, 'Products of fintie groups', with A. Ballester Bolniches and M. Asaad, W. de Gruyter, 2010, which is a basic reference in group theory, with 435 citations to date taking as Google Scholar source. I have also been co-author of 4 teaching books and several books of conference proceedings and activities. The number of citations of my publications is 1218, with an h-index equal to 17, taking Google Scholar as a source. I have participated in 13 competitive research projects subsidized by national (10) and international (3) public organizations from 1998 to the present. My participation in international research groups from China, France and the Dominican Republic has been partially financed by the 3 research projects subsidized by international organizations. I have participated in international research groups based in Saudi Arabia (1), Australia (1), Belarus (1), Egypt (2), United States (2), Italy (2), Israel (1), Netherlands (1), People's Republic of China (3), Dominican Republic (1), South African Republic (1), Ukraine (1). I have presented papers at 52 international conferences, of which 15 have been given as a keynote speaker. I am an advisor (referee) to more than 70 scientific journals, a member of the editorial board of 2 scientific journals and a reviewer of 'Mathematical Reviews' and 'zbMath'. I have made 10 visits to various foreign universities within the framework of collaboration projects, in which I have taught postgraduate courses and carried out research tasks. I am an advisor to Spanish and foreign project evaluation agencies (Colombia). I have been an evaluator of postgraduate works and doctoral theses at other universities, as well as I have advised hiring and promotion committees at other universities. I have supervised 2 doctoral theses and 5 master's theses/third-cycle research projects. I have been director of the Department of Mathematics of the UV since December 2022. I have been recognized for five five-year teaching periods and four six-year research periods. |
