Introductory words

In his speech, entitled ‘On human dignity,’ Professor José Manuel Sánchez Patrón highlighted the importance and transcendence of this concept in history and its relation to the origins of human and fundamental rights. He lamented that, despite being essential, human dignity continues to be violated today. Human rights are constantly violated around the world, including in the Ukrainian armed conflict. He further noted that scientific and technological advances, especially in neuroscience, pose new challenges to human dignity and require multidisciplinary approaches. Additionally, he thanked his research team and the attendees.
