The Universitat de València announces the International Refugee Plan 2024 grants for students. It offers an opportunity to continue their education at the UV for refugee students, mainly those from Afghanistan and Palestine.

International Refuge Plan Scholarships 2024-2025

Universitat de València announces scholarships for students who are fleeing war or human rights violations, particularly from Palestine, and who are potentially or effectively included in the scope of Law 12/2009, of 30 October, regulating the right to asylum and subsidiary protection.

Object

The grants of the International Refuge Plan aim to facilitate the access and continuation of studies at Universitat de València to students who are enrolled in university studies or who are already graduated in their country of origin, who are in a situation of special risk if they cannot continue their studies, and who are applicants or beneficiaries of international protection, of the stateless status or of temporary protection.

The duration of the grant will be one year, from September 1st, 2024 to August 31st, 2025.

The scholarship includes the following components:

  • Enrolment and administrative fees: payment of the enrollment to the official studies carried out at the University of Valencia.
  • Full board accommodation and maintenance, at the Residence Hall indicated by Universitat de València during the established period.
  • Repatriation, medical care and civil liability insurance.
  • Spanish language course for the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025 at the language centre of Universitat de València.
  • Pocket money: unique endowment of 2,000 euros for urban transport expenses and academic material, which will be delivered by nominative cheque once the beneficiary arrives at the facilities of the UV. In the event of budgetary surpluses and in the event of justified need, this item may be increased.
  • Flight tickets from the country of origin to Valencia.

Requirements

  • To have seen their university studies interrupted forcibly.
  • For undergraduate students, to have at least one year or 60 credits approved.
  • Do not incur in any of the circumstances included in Article 13.2 of Law 38/2003, General of Subsidies.
  • Do not possess Spanish nationality or dual Spanish and European nationality.
  • To be an applicant or beneficiary of any of the planned protection situations above mentioned.

Applications

Deadline for submitting applications: from June 3rd to June 21st, 2024

To access the application, it is needed a registration in advance at the electronic headquarters of the Universitat de València. To do this, you must follow the following steps:

  1. Select the image of the main header "seu electronicauv"
  2. Select the icon "My procedures"
  3. Select "User of the Headquarters"
  4. Select at the bottom "Request Access"

The system will make available to the applicant a form that must be filled in and sent. Subsequently, an invitation email will be received to complete the registration process, activating the account. You can find help to the user at this link: https://ir.uv.es/1nO0oFV .

Once the registration process indicated in the previous paragraph has been completed, the interested party will submit their application by electronic registration of Universitat de València.

In the "General" tab the data to be completed are:

  • Type Unit:                                        University, general and central services

  • Select:                                              International Refuge Plan

Documentation to be submitted

  • Passport.
  • Document accrediting being an applicant or beneficiary of any of the protection situations provided for in the first base.
  • Accreditation of the residence and, where appropriate, of the situation of vulnerability of human rights.
  • Documentation accrediting the situation of economic need in which the applicant finds himself and that makes it impossible for him to take charge of the economic cost of the studies. Among others, guarantees or letters of recommendation from NGOs or international aid organizations for refugees/asylum defenders may be taken into account.
  • Document (according to annex III of the call) that includes the letter of presentation, motivation and interest in the degree to be studied in which the situation of the studies or work carried out in their country of origin is detailed, as well as curriculum vitae.
  • Personal study plan and academic orientation accompanied by documentation accrediting the degree studies carried out partially or completely.

Documentation that is not in Spanish or Catalan must be submitted accompanied by a translation into any of these languages.

The documentation must be attached to the application in electronic file, pdf format.  The computer application only allows to present up to 5 electronic files. Several documents can be combined into a single file if necessary. In the latter case, we will try to group them according to the classification of this article.
