On 25 May 2021 at 6 p.m. a lecture by professors Valentín Villaverde and Ernestina Badal will be broadcast on the YouTube channel of the National Archaeological Museum.
The conference is entitled: MIDDLE PALEOLITHIC AND INITIAL UPPER PALEOLITHIC IN THE CENTRAL MEDITERRANEAN IBERIAN REGION.
The results obtained in the HAR2017-85153-P and PROMETEO2017-060 projects allow us to establish the characteristics of the Middle Palaeolithic in the region, incorporating the information provided by Cova Negra and Abrigo de la Quebrada, among other sites. Likewise, the excavations carried out in the Cova de les Cendres and in La Cova de les Malladetes have allowed us to define with precision, both industrially and chronologically (in total, for these two sites, 51 C14 dates), the beginnings of the Upper Palaeolithic.
Also of special relevance are the determination of the consumption of fruits in the Gravetian of Cendres and the novelties produced in the pre-Magdalenian Palaeolithic art.
