
The Lady of Elche, an icon of yesterday and today' - Study Day
This study day consists of different working groups.
The first round table will deal with the materiality of the Lady as a sculpture, in terms of its production, carving, characteristics and colours, as well as its copies.
The second round table will focus on the travels, historiography and representations of the Lady as a European ambassador.
After the presentation of works by contemporary artists who are members of the Académie de France de Madrid and the inauguration of the recent copy of the Lady exhibited at the Casa de Velázquez, the public is invited to attend the Museo Arqueológico Nacional (MAN), Madrid, where the third and final round table will be held, dedicated to the Lady, as a masterpiece of Iberian art, her role and different interpretations in Iberian culture.
