Researchers from the Research Group on Psychosocial Well-being in Childhood and Adolescence presented their work on emotional anxiety among adolescent victims of cyberbullying.
The International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA) together with Montreal’s Info-Secte and the Société Française de Recherche et d’Analyse de l’Emprise Mentale (SFRAEM) held its 2017 Annual International Conference entitled Cult dynamics and radicalisation.
Radicalisation is a global concern, and the link between radicalisation and cults is increasingly recognised. The Bordeaux conference will feature several lectures by experts on radicalisation and extremist groups.
In order to prevent the attraction and radicalisation of young people through social media, it is important to understand cyberbullying. In this context, BIPSIA researchers Sofía Buelga and Jessica Ortega-Barón gave a lecture entitled ‘Détresse émotionnelle chez les adolescents victimes de cyberharcèlement’ (Emotional distress among adolescent victims of cyberbullying).
The conference lasted four days and included 124 lectures with the participation of 158 international speakers. It was a meeting of professionals on the matter of mental health and victims support, international specialists, associations, lawyers, former cult members, and social workers, among others.
