DOCUMEDIA is a website created by the Educational Innovation Group from the Universitat de València integrated by the teaching and research staff from the Social Sciences area dedicated to educating about qualitative research. You will find independent learning proposals and exercises for a collective learning, with theoretical and didactic material, videos and exercise sheets.
It is organised based on different qualitative investigation techniques, going over its design, the analysis and interpretation process, the elaboration of reports and its dissemination. What's more, there is a dissemination section with publications, seminars and conferences from the Innovation Group, and another section with a bibliography about qualitative investigation.
We conceive DOCUMEDIA as a multimedia notebook with sections that will be updated as the educational innovation project develops, to offer the students and the teachers a theoretical-practical material of support for the teaching-learning process. It is, after all, a website in development and, to this day, we have included two techniques: interviews and documentary analysis.
The investigation is a transformative experience. The knowledge needed in order to carry it on is not only acquired through a mental pathway, it also requires the development of specific skills that make it possible to capture data that is, on its own, relational.
The tools that we propose have a simple-complex and theoretical-practical character. Simple, in the sense of being presented in an accessible way for a low level of research training, but complex, since the approach securely stores the epistemological aspects of the relation between subject and object of knowledge. And theoretical-practical, since there is nothing more practical than a good theory and, turning over the sentence, because we cannot teach the methodologic theory if it is not experimented. It is, therefore, a relational proposal.
