A reference team in the field of social epidemiology in elderly people.
This stay has allowed him to initiate several collaborative research projects. Specifically, on how social determinants can impact the physical and mental health of older people. In addition, Zaira has had the opportunity to extend her research with data from the JAGES (Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study) project, a large-scale longitudinal study on Japanese elderly people belonging to the recipient group.
During this stay Zaira has been able to attend multiple lectures and classes such as “Managing health inequalities: Approaching the community”, “Managing health inequalities: Applications of behavioral science” or “Making the community Resilient by Data-Driven Community Organizing” where professors and professionals have shared their experiences in the field of social and community intervention. These classes have allowed the development of new research ideas from an interdisciplinary perspective.
She has also been able to attend several lectures on scales and data processing in large surveys of elderly people “Data harmonization in cohort studies” and “Development of a measurement scale on healthy ageing: THE ATHLOS SCALE” given by Prof. Albert Sanchez-Niubo.
During these months she has been able to participate in the weekly seminars and to present her own research, as well as her progress during the stay in two different presentations where she received feedback and valuable proposals for improvement.
Finally, this stay has allowed her to establish links with researchers from other countries and universities, allowing for further international collaboration in the future. Taking advantage of this publication, we would like to thank all the members of the Kondo Lab for their warm welcome, invitations to attend classes, seminars and social events and the desire to continue working together in the future
To carry out this stay, within the framework of her predoctoral contract (FPU20/02482), she received complementary mobility aid from the Ministry of Universities (EST23/00329) for beneficiaries of the University Teacher Training Program (FPU).
