Gabriela Villen is a PhD candidate in the Department of Scientific and Technological Policy at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). She holds a Master's degree in Communication Sciences from the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo (USP), and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication (Journalism) from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).
She is currently a researcher at the Laboratory of Technologies and Social Transformations (LABTTS/Unicamp) and is involved in the transnational project funded by FAPESP titled ENDURE: Inequalities, Resilience, and New Governance Modalities in a Post-Pandemic World. Her research focuses on misinformation regarding higher education and on the institutional measures adopted by the Ministry of Education and the Federal Government.
In addition to her research activities, Gabriela Villen works as a communication manager at the Office of the Vice Rector for Extension, Sports, and Culture at Unicamp, and has previously served as a communications advisor at the Office of International Relations at the same institution. She also represents Unicamp on the Permanent Commission on Media and University Communication of the Montevideo Group Association of Universities (AUGM). Furthermore, she is one of the coordinators of the International Program Extension Without Borders.
