This project builds a human-based system to detect liver toxicity using advanced 3D models delivering faster reliable and ethical safety scores for food toxics
Acronym
HUMA-IN
Description
The objective of this project is to develop a novel system based on human models to detect the toxic effects induced by exposure to chemical compounds in the liver. This will be achieved by using advanced three-dimensional liver models and reducing the use of animals in studies. The integration of data from diverse tests into a unified, reliable, and reproducible scoring system is expected to facilitate the provision of safety information with enhanced efficiency, precision, and ethical integrity. This enhancement is predicated on the risk assessment of food contaminants, including mycotoxins.
