The event took place on 7 May at the CIPFP La Laboral of Puerto de Sagunto

On 7 May, the second conference of the cycle 'Economía y emprendimiento al servicio de las personas' ('Economy and Entrepreneurship at People's Service) took place at the CIPFP La Laboral de Puerto de Sagunto and was organised by Aula Empresocial and funded by Caixa Popular in collaboration with the Sagunto City Hall.

Under the title 'Economía Social y trabajo autónomo' ('Social Economy and Freelance Work'), the conference gathered institutional representatives, teaching and research staff, professionals on the entrepreneurship sector and local business experiences, in a space for relec¡xion on the opportunities of self-enployment in the framework of social economy.

The person responsible for the inauguration was Natalia Antonino, city cancillor of Commerce and Tourism of the Sagunto City Hall and Francisco Alós, director dof RSC and Relaciones Institucionales of Caixa Popular.

After that, Pilar Alguacil, professor of Financial and Tax Law of the Universitat de València and director of Aula Empresocial, taught a lecture on the connexion between social economy and freelance work. Then, Antonia Sajardo, full professor of Applied Economy on the same university, adressed the role of sustainability and corporative social responsibility in the self-employment sector.

The event ended with a good practices panel discussion, moderated by Antonia Sajardo, where 3 entrepreneurs shared their professional experiences: Lola Torrent (president of FACOSA), Álex Valero (manager of Ortopedia Valerorto) and Marcela Aristizábal (CEO of Tot un Món).

Raúl Palmero, city councillor of Education of the Sagunto City Hall, delivered the closing statements for the conference.

This cycle of conferences keeps on stablishing itself as a space for training, meeting and promoting entrepreneurship initiatives commited with people and territory.
