The 'Emprendre per l'Economia Social' cycle continues in Burjassot

IES Joan XXIII students highly appreciate this conference of 'Emprendre per l'Economia Scoal' ('Entrepeneurship for Social Economy') within the EmprendeEs programme.

The conference of the 'EmprendeES: Emprendre per l'Economia Social' ('EmprendeES: Entrepeneurship for Social Economy') programme, funded by Generalitat Vaenciana, took place in the IES Joan XXIII in Burjassot. The activity was organised by the AulaEmpresocial – UVemprén project that aims to bring entrepeneurship with social economy values closer to students.

During the session, students actively participated in the sessión and appreciated the practical close transforming aspect of the interventions.

Speakers: 

  • Antonia Sajardo, professor in Applied Economics in Universitat de València, introduced Aula Empresocial and reflected on what it meant to become a social economy entrepeneur. 
  • Diana Marcela García, of Nodus Formación y Desarrollo, Coop. V., and Helga Figueroa, of the Canine Centre Koira, shared their experience as social entrepeneurs.
  • Teresa Puchol, Doctor in Law, presented an interactive activity that lead students to reflect on the challenges and opportunities in socially impactful entrepeneurship. 

Moderated by Antonia Sajardo and Teresa Puchol, the conference lies within the project of awareness for social economy visiting educational centres over the Valencian Communiity throughout the year.

Thanks to the initiative and the Generalitat Valenciana institutional support, IES Joan XXIII students discovered the purpose and committment of social entrepeneurship as a feasible innovative and necessary option.
