Over the past week, from 19th to 23rd June 2023, the "Entrepreneurial Humanistic Leadership Program" has been held at the Real Colegio Complutense of Harvard University, a training on entrepreneurship and humanism aimed at turning the faculty of the Univesritat de València into a true catalyst for university entrepreneurship. Under the slogan "Towards life-chaning innovative education", the participating teaching staff were able to explore new forms of entrepreneurship linked to humanism and sustainability, and reflected on what motivates our students to become entrepreneurs.
The training has served to consolidate the teaching innovation projects presented in the call UVemprén Aprèn and that will be implemented in classrooms over the next two years.
The programme included various workshops, eminently practical, with the participation of speakers such as Karen Bohlin, Director of the Practical Wisdom Project at the Abigail Adams Institute and Research Fellow at Harvard University; Susan Major, Founder of ilya labs; Benyamin B. Lichtenstein, Professor of Management at UMass Boston; Rita Jácome, Director of the Institute for Ethics in Communication and Organisations (IECO); Paloma Alonso Stuyck, professor of psychology at Universidad CEU Abat Oliba; and Mercedes Balcells Camps, senior researcher at MIT and creator of MIT Spain.
In addition, the participating teachers have visited the city of Boston, Harvard University and the MIT Museum, getting to know first-hand the entrepreneurial and academic ecosystem of the city.
This training programme is part of the international teaching innovation programme UVemprén Aprèn and is sponsored by Banco Santander through UVemprén Campus.
