General requirements for video calls
- The Meet or Gmail mobile app.
- Or the latest version of a web browser: Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge or Apple Safari.
- A compatible device that meets the minimum technical requirements.
- A supported operating system: Apple macOS, Microsoft Windows, Chrome OS, Ubuntu and other Debian-based Linux distributions. For mobile devices, iOS 12 and later and Android 5.0 and later are supported (Please check and update your Android version).
- A broadband Internet connection. (See how to set up your network)
- A webcam built into the computer or connected via USB.

- Dual-core processor
- 2 GB memory
General requirements for Microsoft Outlook users
- A compatible version of Microsoft Outlook, Office 365 or Exchange.
- A G Suite account with Meet activated for your organisation.
- The Google Meet add-in installed on your computer. In the Office toolbar, go to the Add-ins section, click on Store and follow the installation instructions.
Allow access to the camera and microphone
- Allow access the first time Meet is use
- In a web browser, go to the Meet homepage.
- Click Start a meeting.
- Click Allow.
- Change settings to allow acces
If the system does not prompt you for access or you have previously blocked access, you can change the settings.
- In a web browser, go to the Meet homepage.
- Click Start a meeting.
- At the top right, click on Locked Camera.
- Click Allow https://meet.google.com to always access the camera and microphone.
- Click Done. The video call will automatically connect. If you see that the video call does not automatically reload, exit the meeting and join again.
