On 11th November, conferences on Criminal Mediation were held at the Faculty of Law of the UV, directed by Professor of Procedural Law Ana Montesinos García, within the framework of the Congress "Mediate in November", organised by the MedArb group.
The Congress dealt with the current situation of criminal mediation in Spain, both for adults and minors. Criminal mediation was also dealt with in two special cases: crimes of gender violence and white-collar crimes. Finally, mediation in Germany, a paradigm of the continental system that has incorporated criminal mediation into the judicial framework, was analysed.
For this purpose, professors from different Universities participated. Specifically, from the Universitat de València (César Chaves and Asunción Colás), the Jaume I University of Castellón (Ana Beltrán), the University of Castilla La Mancha (Juan Carlos Ortiz) and the University of Santiago de Compostela (Mariángeles Catalina). In addition, they had the presence of Adoración Egea, psychologist, responsible for the technical team of the Juvenile Court of Valencia, who offered a practical vision of mediation in the youth field.
