Enrique Fernández Masiá, Professor of Private International Law at the Faculty of Law of Albacete, University of Castilla-La Mancha, has just published his new book La transparencia al rescate del arbitraje inversor-Estado (Spanish for Transparency to the rescue of investor-state arbitration).
This book has been published by Tirant lo Blanch publishing house as part of the collection on arbitration directed by Professor Silvia Barona Vilar. It deals in depth with the efforts that have been made, and continue to be made, to change the characteristics of the arbitration system. The ideas to achieve a greater openness of the hearings, the publicity of the procedural documentation and the possibility that non-disputing third parties may act within the arbitration procedure, unthinkable a few years ago, are today key points for any minimally acceptable solution that one wishes to seek in the modification of the methods of investor-state dispute resolution.
