Mediación y Arbitraje: Conflictos derivados de la actividad investigadora y de transferencia

Professor Guillermo Palao, Professor of Private International Law at the Universitat de València, member of the Prometeo GVA2018/111 Group and the MedArbValencia Group, and lecturer in the Master's Degree in Law, Business and Justice at this University, has coordinated the book "Mediación y Arbitraje: Conflictos derivados de la actividad investigadora y de transferencia".

The work Mediación y Arbitraje: Conflictos derivados de la actividad investigadora y de transferencia, (Spanish for Mediation and Arbitration: Conflicts arising from research and transfer activity), in ebook format, has just been published within the framework of the collaboration agreement between the Universitat de València Science Park and the Valencia Chamber of Commerce's Court of Mediation and Arbitration.

The book aims to answer questions related to conflicts that may arise during the development of research and technology, innovation and knowledge transfer activities, such as: What happens when, within the framework of these relationships, conflicts arise between the parties that endanger the relationship? Do these contracts have mechanisms that minimise or eliminate the disputes? How would it be possible to reduce the intensity of differences and guarantee the continuity of the collaboration? What would be the most appropriate mechanisms to deal with possible confrontations and facilitate their continuity, taking into account their complexity and highly technical component? How can the confidentiality of the information transferred in these cases be guaranteed?

The book includes different authors - academics, professionals, arbitrators, and mediators - such as Felipe Palau, María Dolores Blanco, Rosa Mª Rodríguez, Jesús Olavarría and Ignacio Alamar. It offers valuable recommendations and good practices aimed at research teams and heads of research results transfer units at universities and research centres, managers and professionals involved in R&D&I projects and technology-based companies.
