
José Luis Guerrero Becar, professor of the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, former student from MUDEJ and P.h.D by the UV, was elected president of AIFED-Sui Iuris at its 8th General Assembly held in the city of Madrid on 2, 3 and 4 May.
The Ibero-American Association of Faculties and School of Law AIFED-Sui Iuris, held its VIII General Assembly in the city of Madrid, hosted by the Autonomous University of Madrid and Carlos III of Madrid. The meeting was held on the theme "The training of lawyers in the global world of the 21st century".
Along with various presentations by academics from the host universities and members of the Association, the Board of Directors was renewed and the new president was elected, José Luis Guerrero Becar, professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, who will hold the post for two years.
The Sui Iuris Association was born in 2010 as an initiative of the Autonomous Universities of Madrid, Barcelona, Carlos III of Madrid and Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona, and today brings together law schools and faculties with high quality standards in the Latin American field, with the presence of universities from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Among its objectives is to establish itself as a space for open and independent dialogue and discussion on legal issues and those related to the teaching of Law, to promote student and academic mobility, as well as research among its members.
