Directed by Professors Silvia Barona Vilar and Elena Martínez García, with the collaboration of Professor Raquel Borges Blázquez as secretary, the seminar is part of the PROMETEO project "Sustainable Justice in a Global State of Change" (JUSOST) (CIPROM 2023-64).
The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València will host the seminar "Vulnerability and Criminal Justice" on 9 May 2025, an academic event that brings together distinguished specialists from the legal field to reflect on the impact of vulnerability in various contexts of criminal law.
The session will be held in the Víctor Fairén Hall of the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València and will address key issues such as the effects of gender stereotypes on access to justice, the vulnerability of victims of sexual offences, the impact of economic crimes on the most vulnerable groups, and the emerging challenges posed by cybercrime.
The programme includes the participation of Prof. Dr Mª José Añón Reig (Universitat de València), Prof. Dr Patricia Faraldo Cabana (Universidad de A Coruña), and Prof. Dr Nicolás Rodríguez-García (Universidad de Salamanca), all three members of the JUSOST Group; as well as Prof. Dr Federico González Barrera (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), whose presentations will provide a critical and multidisciplinary perspective on how vulnerability interacts with the criminal justice system.
