
Professor Elena Martínez García, member of the project of Sustainable Law in a state of global change (JUSOST), presented her book The practical application of gender perspective on Spanish criminal justice on 19 February 2026 at the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Valencia (ICAV).
The book, which received the 2024 runner-up award for the Cecilia Amorós Feminist Essay Prize, constitutes a rigorous and committed contribution to the analysis of the effective incorporation of gender perspective within the Spanish criminal justice field. In this book, the author presents the theoretical basis and its practical approach to the interpretation and application of legal norms, as well as the challenges that keep existing when it comes to the judicial protection of the victims and the guarantee of a truly equal justice system.
The participation of Professor Elena Martínez in this professional forum strengthens the commitment of JUSOST project to the creation of justice systems, which are more inclusive, sustainable and attentive to the protection of socially vulnerable people, integrating gender perspective as the main cross-disciplinary principle for creating a justice system adapted to contemporary challenges.
