On 24 May, Dr Elena de Luis García, a member of the MEDARB research group and a researcher contracted in the Prometeo 2018/111 Project "Keys to civil and criminal justice in the society of fear", participated in the cycle of online conferences given by professors from the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València, at the Norbert Wiener University in Peru, aimed at undergraduate students from the Faculty of Law.

The conference, entitled "Environmental Protection through Criminal Law", focused on analysing the criminal protection of the environment based on the consideration of the environment as a human right. To this end, Dr de Luis examined the protection of the environment in the American and European human rights protection systems, and then analysed the regulation of environmental crimes in Peru and Spain, ending with a reference to the possibility of shaping an international crime against the environment.
