The professor Dr. Silvia Barona Vilar, full-time university professor of Procedural Law at the Universitat de València and principal researcher of JUSOST (Sustainable Law in a State of Global Change) project, took part in the course “Criminal Justice System” at University Jaume I (UJI).
Her speech, entitled ‘Challenges of criminal proceedings in the 21st century: New concepts or new model?’, was given on 28 Octobre 2025 during the educational activities of the Masters in Penal Law System.
During her presentation, professor Barona tackled the main challenges of contemporary criminal proceedings,in a context of legal and technical transformation. She reflected on the necessity to adapt procedural structures to new social, technological and institutional sustainability demands.
Her participation reinforces the commitment of JUSOST group, with the critical and interdisciplinary analysis of the processes of change in justice systems,from a global and sustainable perspective.
