On 17th April 2026, professors Silvia Barona Vilar and Carlos Esplugues Mota, members of the Sustainable Law in a state of global change (JUSOST) project, participated in the seminar Problemas actuales del proceso civil (Current problems of civil proceeding), held at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), in the frame of the courses of the Doctorate in Law.

The educational meeting, developed at the Faculty of Law, headed by Professor José Luis Guerrero Becar, former student of the Master’s Degree in Law, Business and Justice of the Universitat de València and doctor by this institution, gathered specialists to reflect on the main challenges of the contemporary civil proceeding.

In this context, Professor Silvia Barona Vilar held a conference entitled Decisión judicial algorítmica, ¿es posible la IA agéntica en la Justicia? (Algorithmic judicial decision, is agentic AI feasible in Justice?), focused on assembling the different jurisdictional levels in a global context.

The participation of both teachers falls within the well-established academic cooperation network between the PUCV and the Universitat de València, which has been promoting joint initiatives within the scope of teaching, research, and knowledge transfer for years.

This kind of activities reinforce the international projection of the JUSOST project and its commitment to the analysis of current challenges of civil justice in an environment marked by technological transformation and globalisation.
